Our role is to provide support to those who choose to utilize recovery services and to ensure that we provide a welcoming and safe environment.

  • 12-step programs are free recovery program for people suffering from Substance Abuse Disorder.

  • 12-step program participants follow a set of recovery steps to achieve and maintain abstinence from addictive substances or behaviors. Many people use a sponsor to help them through the process.

  • The program uses a spiritual approach that includes a belief in a higher power. Members define that higher power in their own way.

  • Meetings are often held in public spaces such as churches or schools . Some meetings are open to anyone who wants to attend, while others are only for people with an addiction or prospective 12-step members.

  • Becoming a member is free. The only requirement is a desire to stop using.

12-Step Groups

SMART Recovery's purpose is to support individuals who have chosen to abstain, or are considering abstinence from any type of addictive behaviors (substances or activities), by teaching how to change self-defeating thinking, emotions, and actions; and to work towards long-term satisfactions and quality of life.

Their Approach:

  • Teaches self-empowerment and self-reliance.

  • Encourages individuals to recover and live satisfying lives.

  • Teaches tools and techniques for self-directed change.

  • Meetings are educational and include open discussions.

  • Advocates the appropriate use of prescribed medications and psychological treatments.

  • Evolves as scientific knowledge of addiction recovery evolves.
